Egyptian championship: Zamalek, Pyramids, Al-Ahly… Who will be crowned champions?
With just two matchdays remaining in the 2025-2026 campaign, the title race is reaching fever pitch in Egypt. Three teams are still in contention: Zamalek, Pyramids, and Al-Ahly.
Sitting top of the table with 50 points, Zamalek travel to face Smouha this Tuesday, May 5, 2026. Hot on their heels, Pyramids—level on points—are away to Ceramica Cleopatra.
Meanwhile, Al-Ahly, currently third with 47 points, host ENPPI in a must-win clash to keep their title hopes alive until the very last day. The Red Devils reignited the race by clinching the derby just a few days ago.
If all three front-runners win, the verdict will be postponed to the final matchday, scheduled for Friday, May 15, 2026. Zamalek and Pyramids will host Ceramica and Smouha respectively, while Al-Ahly will travel to Port Said to face Al-Masry.
Triple reigning champions, Al-Ahly are gunning for their 45th crown, while Zamalek (14 titles) are eager to reclaim glory for the first time since 2022. As for Pyramids, they have never won the Egyptian championship.
